Fred received his Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Biology in May of 1997. While in the Taylor lab, Fred studied molecular evolution in the genus Aspergilus. Fred was awarded an NSF pre doctoral fellowship in June of 1997. He worked at Roche Molecular Systems in Alameda from June of 1997 until April of 1998. Fred returned briefly to UC Berkeley, working in the Taylor and Pace labs, during the summer of 1998. Currently Fred is attending graduate school at Harvard University.
