Steve Lee received his PhD in John Taylor's lab in 1990. After leaving Berkeley, Steve did a postdoc at the University of Georgia. Steve then worked as an Assistant Professor of Biology at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley for a year and a half. In 1994, Steve moved back to California and worked at the California Department of Justice DNA Laboratory in Berkeley as an Assistant Laboratory Director in Research and Development. Steve left the DOJ at the end of 1999. After the DOJ, Steve worked for MiraiBio (Hitachi Genetic Systems). Currently Steve is an Associate Professor at San Jose State University.
