Tonya received her BS in Molecular and Cell Biology from Berkeley in May of 1994. After receiving her degree, Tonya worked in the Taylor lab and studied the population genetics of Coccidioides immitis. At the end of May 1995, Tonya left the Taylor lab and began working as a Staff Research Associate for Felix Sperling, an assistant professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management. She is studying Arthropod Systematics and is in charge of the new ABI 377 sequencing facility. Tonya plans to work in Dr. Sperling's lab until the fall of 1996, at which time she hopes to attend med school.
